Project Description:
The objectives of this research project are to: determine whether current implemented design exceptions/variations meet risk expectations; develop procedures to review the effects of design exceptions/variances; and compare actual observed crash rates for projects with design exceptions/variations to those predicted by the Highway Safety Manual.
